In an unprecedented move, BMW Motorrad India has teased the arrival of its maxi-scooter, the C 400 GT. Though the Bavarian brand hasn’t announced a launch date yet, it is likely that the maxi-scooter will grace our shores next month.
BMW Motorrad updated its maxi-scooter duo, the C 400 GT and the C 400 X earlier this year. While the former is intended for touring, the latter is intended for urban mobility. Interestingly, the teaser image uses the hashtag “urban mobility” while the scooter in the picture seems to be the Gran Turismo version.
The BMW C 400 GT is the mid-capacity maxi-scooter from the German manufacturer. It is powered by a 350cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 34PS at 7500rpm and 35Nm at 5750rpm. This motor is mated to a CVT unit that receives newer internals for 2021. BMW Motorrad has equipped the maxi-scooter with the safety net of dual-channel ABS and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) as standard.
The BMW C 400 GT gets telescopic fork and preload adjustable dual shocks. For braking, the bikemaker has equipped the maxi-scooter with dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. It even features a TFT instrument console with bluetooth connectivity.
The BMW C 400 GT rivals the likes of the Honda Forza 350 and the Yamaha XMax. However, the maxi-scooter is likely to go unrivalled in India till the Honda Forza 350 or the SYM Joymax Z 300 are launched here.
